Before I went to Paris, I heard nonstop that it was the food capitol of the world. Home to more Michelin stars than anywhere on the planet. Now, I’ve been to Paris, and it was pretty good. They made a mean Onion Soup. I loved their Toast and their Fries. Truly, Paris has the French cuisine on lock. But if you’re really looking for the food capitol of the world, you’re not going to find it in Europe. It’s Los Angeles.
Now, maybe the food isn’t the best in the world by itself. I mean, some of it is. It’s Los Angeles. What chef doesn’t want to work in Los Angeles? But the true heart of the Los Angeles culinary landscape lies in its diversity. When you hit the Southland, you’ll find everything fom Little Ethiopia to Little Israel to Little Tokyo. Little Armenia and Thai Town are nestled in their somewhere. Whatever you’re looking for, you’ll find it, and you’ll find a better version of it than you’ll find just about anywhere else.
